Hokkaido
Hokkaido is situated in the northern end of Japan. Quite cold and has a lot of snow in Winter. Unlike Tokyo, June is the best season with flowers and nice weather. Summer is cool and great location for vacation. Sapporo City's average temperature is low 18.5C high 26.1C in August , low -7.7.5C high -4.9 C in January. |

Tohoku Area
Tohoku area is quite cold and has a lot of snow on mountains in winter, which are nice ski resort area. In summer, cities are sometimes quite hot and humid. Sea water is cold in Japanese sea even in summer. Mountains are great place to have cool summer vacation. Sendai' City's average temperature is low 21.2°C high 27.9 °C in August , low -2.0 °C high 5.2°C in January.
Pacific coast of Tohoku had devastating Tsunami on March 11, 2011. Over 20,000 people are dead or missing. Earthquake also affected Sendai, the biggest city in Tohoku. |

Kanto Area
January is moderate cold, dry and sunny. February to March sometimes snow in Tokyo. April to May is the best season with flowers. June to July is rainy season, usually not so hot, but these years it gets quite hot when sun shines in July. August is quite hot and humid. September to October is cooler and drier. November is great season with beautiful red and yellow leaves. December is moderately cold in Tokyo.
Tokyo's average temperature is low 24.2°C high 30.8°C in August , low 2.1°C high 9.8°C in January. Saitama and Gunma prefecture where not facing sea, temperature will go up in Summer. In 2011 July, Kumagaya city recorded 40°C. |

Kansai Area
Cities not facing sea get quite hot and humid in Summer, including Kyoto and Osaka. Rainy season is June and July. Wakayama has a lot of rain and typhoon.
Osaka's average temperature is low 25.1°C high 33°C in August , low 2.5°C, high 9.3°C in January.
Chubu Area
Nagoya's average temperature is low 23.8°C, high 32.2°C in August , low 0.5°C, high 8.8°C in January. |

Cyugoku Area
Area facing Japanese Sea is windy and snows a lot. Okayama and Hiroshima city are facing Setonai Inland Sea where not so much snow in winter, hot and humid in summer. Hiroshima's average temperature is low 24.3°C, high 32°C in August , low 1.6°C, high 9.6°C in January.
Shikoku Area
Shikoku is quite hot and humid in summer, water shortage is common. South of Shikoku is a popular route of Typhoon from August to September.

Kyushu Area
Kyushu Island is quite a large area and has variety of climate. Hakata City is located in North of Kyushu Island, and has snow in winter. Whereas, Kagoshima and Miyazaki are not so cold in Winter. Typhoons bring large amount of rain to this island in summer. Fukuoka's average temperature is low 24.5°C, high 31.6°C in August , low 3.2°C, high 9.8°C in January. |

Okinawa
Okinawa consists of many small islands and situated far south from Japanese Main Island and has a subtropical climate with warm winters and hot summers. Precipitation is very high, and is especially affected by the rainy season and typhoons.

- Kanto Plane is very hot and humid in summer. Furniture made in dry country might swell and cause paint to come off.
